As an active member of the thriving Birmingham jazz scene, Piera is involved with the Jazzlines Women in Jazz Programme, and has met with industry experts and leading female jazz musicians. While studying at the leading jazz course at Birmingham Conservatoire, she had the opportunity to study under some of the key players of British jazz, including John Turville, Liam Noble and John Taylor. As well as one to one tutoring, she has also gained experience from visiting tutors such as Mark Turner and George Colligan.
